Red brick house of circa 1750. The present house is the third known to
have been built on the site, it replaced a C15 house called White House which
in turn replaced a mediaeval house called Batilles. It has 2 storeys, attics
and cellars. A C19 wing projects at the south end of the west front and
there is a parapet with a modillion cornice. The wing has a curvilinear
gable. Five:two window range of double-hung sashes with glazing bars, in
plain reveals. A central 8-panel door approached by steps with iron railings
has a doorcase with coursed pilasters, ornamental frieze and an open dentilled
pediment. Roof tiled, with 3 flat headed dormers to the main block and
one small casement window in the gable to the wing. The interior has some
original fireplaces.
