Bandstand. 1930. J H Markham, Chief Architect to Office of Works. Metal
fanciful neo-Regency composition. Canted pedestal carrying eight slender columns
with simplified capitals and ball feet. Octagonal canopy with convex sounding
board with painted decoration. Copper tented roof with polygonal finial;
decorative parapet guilloche frieze and prominent gutterspouts. Tubular metal
balustrade with tall slender standards between columns.
