16/9 Cordbatt Cottage,
Lea Farm

Formerly listed in error in Peasmarsh parish. Probably early C19. Cottage
orné. 1 storey and attics. The front and side walls are made of short logs
laid across the thickness of the walls, having the appearance of flints and
set in plaster. 3 casement windows. Later lean-to extension to right hand
side. Hipped thatched roof with 1 dormer supported on 6 rustic posts forming
a verandah on the front elevation. The rear elevation is in brick with small
eaves overhang. The log construction of this cottage is possibly unique in
East Sussex.
