House. Late C17/early C18. Timber-framed structure, with early
C19 brick casing. Red brick, with later yellow stock brick
extension at rear subsequently replaced by 1980s garage, old
tiled roof, with large rendered chimneystack off centre to
ridge.
2 storeys. 2 recessed sash windows with glazing bars on ground
floor, one at first floor, beneath slightly cambered brick
arches. Entrance on north side, a 4-panel flush door beneath a
cambered brick arch, set against the stack, giving a partial
baffle entry plan. Roof truss and wall plates exposed
internally. The building is not an integral part of the
adjoining terrace Nos 3-12 (qv) with which it forms a group,
but its framed structure indicates a construction within a
half-century of their late C17 origin. Christ's Hospital
retained ownership until 1894.
