Part of grand terrace of houses. 1865. John Johnson. Stucco, slate mansards.
4 storeys, attic; basement and attic mansard. Nos 56 and 58 set forward slightly
with rusticated quoins, and Ionic half columns with segmental pediments to centre
window of each. Channelling to ground floor, paired projecting Doric porches;
various panelled doors. Balustraded stucco balcony to first floor. Architraves
to windows above ground floor. First floor windows round headed, others
square-headed. First and second floor windows corniced. Sashes, plate glass.
Rich console cornice above third floor, subsidiary cornice to attic. Attic
windows square-headed except to Nos 56,57 and 58, which round headed. Cast iron
area railings. Part of terrace with Nos 66 to 74 qv and integral part of Lancaster Gate planned layout.
