Terraced town house. c.1730 by Joshua Fletcher, with early and
late C.19 alterations. Stucco faced (the upper floors in 1881), slate
roof. 4 storeys, basement and dormered mansard. 3 windows wide.
Channelled ground floor with early C.19 segmental arched doorway to
left, 6 panel door and patterned fanlight. Square headed recessed
sash windows, in shallow architraves on upper floor and with French
casements to 1st floor. Sill bands to 2nd and 3rd floors; crowning
cornice and blocking course. 1st floor geometric pattern early C.19
cast iron balcony. Wrought iron area railings with urn finials.
Interior retains stone dog leg main staircase with bracket cut soffits
and wrought iron balustrade to the first 4 flights of open work
baluster pattern; open well back stairs with turned balusters and
deeply moulded handrail; front ground floor room retains part of
original panelling etc.
