Formerly terrace of 8 cottages now 6 cottages and office: c.1820 for
Samuel Greg with C20 restoration. English garden wall bond orange
brick. Welsh slate roof and 7 brick chimneys. Long rectangular plan
of 6 2-unit cottages and a 3-bay house at left end. 2-storey (over
basement), 15-bay east front. Windows are restored 2-light iron
small-pane casements with stone sills under cambered brick heads.
Similar heads to board doors approached by flights of 4 steps with
wrought iron balusters. 3 doors have hoods (1 gabled, 2 lean-to) on
wooden brackets. Small pane window to each basement. Left 3 bays
have 4-pane sashes flanking elliptical brick head to 4-panelled door
with gabled hood above.
This and similar terraces belong to the 2nd phase of development of
the village in response to a major expansion of the mill.
