Formerly stables and grooms' house, now shippon and cottage: c.1865
probably by J.S. Crowther for Robert H. Greg. Timber-framed partly on
brick and stone plinth. Purple tile roof with bands of fishscaling
and a brick chimney with Tudor style stacks. South front of 2 parts.
Left 5-bays of 1-storey are former stables. Doors at either end have
4-centred arched wooden doorcases and board doors with iron fishtail
hinges. Between are 3 3-light wooden mullioned and transomed windows
and some roundel and chevron timber framing. Timber coving at eaves
and 2 louvred ventilators on ridge. Range continues with 1-storey,
2-bay cottage. This had close studding with large arch braces.
Similar door and doorcase to left and to right are 4-light wood
mullioned windows, the upper one in a gabled dormer with barge boards
and a finial. Further coving on gable end.

The 2 brick ranges to the rear of the stables are not included in the
item.
