Music room. 1935. By P J B Harland for Sir Arthur Bliss. Wood frame with painted weatherboard cladding, on brick base and piers; asphalt flat roof; brick chimney stack colourwashed. Built on sloping ground, with solid base on South West side and two piers on North East. Entrance door on South East, with timber casements in opposite corner; casement window across whole of North East elevation.
INTERIOR: Plywood lined. Small brick fireplace. Bookcases/music score shelves and fitted desk under window and gap between with piano heater.
Built as an isolated retreat in which Sir Arthur Bliss could compose. The building is constructed within the Pen Pits Quern Quarries. Scheduled Ancient Monument (Somerset County No 470).
