House, now convent school. C1795. Local stone cut and squared with ashlar dressings; Welsh slate roof with coped gable
to East and hipped on West return; brick chimney stacks with moulded stone caps. 2 storeys with attics, 4 bays. Plinth,
rusticated quoins, cornice, tall plain parapet; 12-pane sash windows in architraved surrounds; entrance in bay 3 with
6-panel door set in semi-circular sub-arch under Regency style cast iron fanlight, flanked by fluted Doric pilaster and
open pedimented hood; pitched roof dormer windows behind parapet. Matching 4-bay West elevation, of which bay 3 is
blind. Interior not seen. House built after 1793 but before 1797 by Robert Gapper junior. (Sweetman G, History of
Wincanton, c1904).
