C16 altered late C18 and early C19. 2 storeys timber framed, lst floor stuccoed
oversailing on boxed bressumer. Gable end early C19 slate roof, projecting
moulded eaves cornice, 2 large windows, 4 panes wide, in reeded architrave
surrounds with corner blocks and small cornice on lst floor flanking larger
central French window with marginal glazing in surround of fluted 3/4 Doric
columns, with broken entablature and open pediment. Plain bar guard rail.
This window formerly used as door for access to top of coaches. On ground
floor plain C19 shop front with 2 and 3 light windows and flat arched yard
entry to right. Timber framing exposed to side in passage. This building
was formerly the Assembly Room of King's Arms No 9 qv.
Nos 1 to 13 (odd) form a very important group.
