House. Early C17. Extended and with additions, late C17 and
C18. Brick with internal timber framing. Roughcast and
whitewashed. Steep pitched hipped and gabled pantile roof with
single coped gable. 2 ridge stacks. 2 storeys, 4 bays. L-
plan. Windows are C19 and C20 casements. East front has off-
centre C19 gabled brick porch with glazed door, flanked by single
C20 bow windows. To right, door flanked to left by French window
and beyond, a casement. Above, 4 casements, that to right at a
lower level. South gable has C19 lean-to with pantile roof. A
casement at each end. West front has to left, gabled wing,
extended C20 and C20 lean-to with pantile roof. Large C20 lean-
to porch with pantile roof and a casement. Flanked by single
casements, that to right below porch hood. Above, 3 small
casements. South front has to left 2 garage doors. To their
right, glazed door and a casement. Above, 4 casements. North
side has 2 casements. Above, single casement. To right, dressed
stone quoins. North east corner has 3 bays of timber framing. 3
bay posts. Close-studded wall with curved braces. Heavy
cambered tie beam with struts, carrying 3 heavily chamfered span
beams. Chamfered span beams have broach stops. West wing
has principal rafter roof with wind braces and stud and plaster
partition wall. C20 ridge and several common rafters. South
wing has principal rafter roof with collar and tenoned purlins.
To south, 5 bay principal rafter roof with collars and clasp
purlins. Winder stair. During early C20 this building was used
as a shop.
