Late C16 or early C17 timber-framed house with later front. 2 storeys and
attic, 4 windows, very wide. High pitched, swept, tiled roof with boxed
eaves. Chimney of 3 conjoined shafts with cornices in several planes. Late
C18 or early C19 red brick front with blue headers. 2 and 3-light C19
casement windows, those on ground floor under segmental brick arches, 1 4-
panel door and one plank door in moulded frame with hood over. Brick in
door jamb inscribed "W.S. 1788" may refer to refronting. Fire insurance
"sign date 1822 on 1st floor. 2-storey, 2-window rear extension. Some
exposed timber on back wall.
