Late C17 house of large proportions with early C19 left wing. Now divided into
2, and the eastern part, "Farley," further subdivided into flats. Built by
John Price as his family seat. Original house of 2 storeys and attic, 5 windows.
High pitched hipped tiled roof has 2 compound stacks with moulded cornices and
3 leaded dormers. Heavy projecting moulded wood eaves cornice, with scroll
modillions. Brick front with plinth and moulded 1st floor band. Sash windows
with glazing bars, 1st floor centre Venetian, all under gauged brick arches.
C19 trellis porch to door at left. East return shows similar elevation but
with original mullioned and transomed windows. C19 porch and canted bay.
West wing under hipped slate roof with deep panelled soffit on carved brackets.
In centre, metal canopy supported on slender white painted posts. 3 tall French
windows on ground floor and 3 sash windows with bars above with Venetian shutters.
On either side, 1-storey supporting wing with ridge slate roof. Gable end facing
south and projecting in front of main south elevation.
