Chest tomb approx 1m south of the
south aisle wall, Church of St
Laurence

Chest tomb. Early to mid C17. Portland stone. A plain chest
with very thick ledger slab to deep cyma recta edge. The chest
is made from large plain stone slabs, and there are worn
remains of an inscription in capitals on the N side (facing
the church). The base has sunk below ground level. This form
of chest with its thick slab is typically of the early C17.
