15/02/90 Barking Smack Public House

GV II

Public house. 1845, altered C20. Red brick with a gault brick
east front. Slate roof. 2-storey 3-window range. Outer 2 bays
in form of 2-storey canted bay windows fitted with 4/4 and 6/6
horned sashes. The sills of the upper windows are tile-hung.
Central C20 door with a Lacon's Brewery hawk emblem in a panel
to the left and the date 1845. Parapet over a platband.
Shallow hipped roof. North return of 3 bays: formerly a
central door (now blocked and opened as a window) flanked by
one 6/6 horned sash left and a 6/1 sash right, in recesses. 3
similar sashes to first floor, all under gauged skewback
arches. South return with a doorway, sashes and a wall stack.
INTERIOR: ground floor opened out to form one room.
