906-1/10/42 Bridge over Leeds-Liverpool Canal

Public road bridge over Leeds-Liverpool Canal. c1790-6;
engineer, Robert Whitworth; widened c1862-71. Coursed squared
sandstone. Semi-elliptical arch with rusticated voussoirs, a
plain band, and parapet with ridged coping. Originally
approximately 8m wide, but widened to approximately 12m by
addition on the east side in matching style (the upper part of
this addition now covered by a footway).
