Cutlery works. Mid C19, extended 1902 for Ernest Wright, with
mid C20 alterations. Brick with painted ashlar dressings and
slate roofs with large transverse ridge stack and smaller
front wall stack and 2 gable stacks.
2 and 3 storeys; 13 window range.
2 storey office range, to right, has 2 pedimented bays each
with two 12-pane sashes on a moulded sillband with brackets.
Below, to left, a segment-arched cart entrance with inscribed
keystone and the works' name, and double board doors. To
right, a round-arched window with boarded fanlight, then a
round-arched flush door with fanlight.
To left, main block with sillbands to the upper floors. 5
round-arched glazing bar sashes, and above, five 2-light
glazing bar casements. Ground floor has to left 3 shuttered
windows and to right, a double board door. To left, a slightly
lower entrance bay, in the same style, with 2 round-arched
windows and above, 2 smaller glazing bar casements. Below,
altered cart entrance, with steel lintel and roller shutter.
To left again, a 3 storey block with a 3-light glazing bar
casement to left, and a half-glazed loft door to right. Above,
two 3-light glazing bar casements. Below, a window with board
shutters, flanked to left by a segment-headed doorway with
concrete lintel, and to right by a larger window with triple
board shutters and a wooden lintel.
