Shop, originally dwelling. c1600 but extensively restored late
C20. Timber-framed with plain tiled roof.
3-storeyed, 2-window range. Inserted shop front with canted
bays each side of a central door. Upper storey comprises 2
full-height square oriel bays, with continuous bands of
mullioned and transomed windows separated by balustraded
studding at each floor. Cusped quatrefoil panelling in the
framing of the main structure. Cusped barge-boards with
finials over each gable.
Return elevation to Hill's Lane comprises 2 gables framed with
close studding with middle rail and long raking braces. 2
inserted shop windows flank a series of 3 doors and 2 casement
windows. Left-hand door has architrave with triglyph frieze
over. Upper windows are 2 horizontal sliding sashes, and a
casement. Square panelling exposed in rear gable, with joweled
corner post.
