Memorial cross marking position of former Church of St Peter
(demolished 1907). c.1907. Portland stone. Gothic style. Base
of 4 hexagonal steps, hexagonal pedestal with swept top
embellished with quatrefoils and brattishing, shaft of slender
clustered columns with an angel displaying a shield halfway up
each side, surmounted by a large Gothic cross. Inscription.
Forms group with Cenotaph War Memorial (q.v.).
