Public house. Largely late C16-early C17 with later additions.
Timber-framed extended in brick with mock timber cladding, and
plain tiled roof. 2 storeys, 4 parallel gables of varying
widths facing street, but original structure probably of long
range and cross wing form is visible in south elevation facing
river.
Street front has doorways in left- and right-hand gables, and
casement windows of 1 and 2 lights, with single ring cambered
heads. Original building probably the 3 left-hand bays, which
are brick with some mock framing over possible original
timberwork in the outer gable. Right-hand gable a C19 or C20
addition.
South elevation has long range to right partly concealed by
flat-roofed extension, but with 2 dormers over in the roof,
and cross range to left. Brick to ground floor, then timber
framed in tall panels with long raking braces. 3-light
casement windows inserted in first floor and gable apex. Late
C19 or early C20 gable to left, brick with mock timber
cladding in the high gable apex. Axial stacks.
