Pair of shops, probably originally a single dwelling. Late C16
or early C17 with later alterations. Timber-framed but
rendered, and part painted in imitation of timbering. Plain
tiled roof. 3 storeys and attic, 2-window range. Shop fronts
inserted early-mid C20, that to left having fascia carried on
ornate console brackets, the window flanked by doorways one
now blocked. Paired 4-pane sash in left-hand unit, with paired
9-pane sash to second storey. Tripartite sashes on each floor
to right. Second storey is jettied out, the bressumer reshaped
with moulded plaster work which is echoed in projecting eaves
cornice. Single gable dormer in roof to left. Gable end and
axial stack.
