Country house. Mid C18. Brick; hipped slate double-pitch roof;
4 cross-axial brick ridge stacks; 2 brick end stacks.
Irregular plan.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and cellar; symmetrical 7-window range
with 2-bay wings right and left. Central 12/8 sash, flanked by
9/6 sashes, in advanced bay; further 9/6 sashes; 4/4 sash and
3/3 sashes; brick modillioned stone cornice to parapet with
moulded stone coping. Central entrance: C20 glazed door, and
Gothick-glazed fanlight, in round-headed panelled reveals,
under moulded wood open-pediment hood on fluted pilasters;
flanked by 9/6 sashes; storey band.
2-storey wings, each with 4 9/6 sashes; similar cornice and
parapet; returned storey band. Fenestration has moulded cases
under gauged brick flat arches. Left returned side: 9/6 sash
and 2 blind openings, over 9/6 sashes and central blind
opening; French windows with barred overlight.
Rear: similar front, with 2 blocked openings to second floor;
9/9 sash under moulded wood pediment on plain pilasters.
Advanced wing: late C19; single storey; 9/6 and 6/4 sashes,
and 4-light casement to north; moulded stone cornice to leaded
parapet.
INTERIOR: empire staircase with turned balusters and moulded
rail; gallery.
