Water Pump

Communal water pump. Dated 1840. Manufactured by Garrett &
Son, Leiston, Saxmundham, Suffolk. Cast-iron pump on partly
rendered brick cistern. Pump has the form of an unfluted Roman
Doric column with entasis and unmoulded square capital:
cast-iron handle and water spout attached. Above spout is a
cast plate recording manufacturers' name and date.
