Two houses. Mid C18. Roughcast with slate roof. 2 storeys.
Middle Fell Gate Farmhouse, at the left, is a 3-window range
and has glazing bar sash windows with plain reveals and
projecting sills. The ground-floor windows have segmental
heads, and the central window on the 1st floor is narrower
than the others. The central doorway has a flat stone hood on
brackets, and a door of 2 glazed panels above 4 raised and
fielded panels. Chimneys to left and right.
Underwood, to the right, is probably a mid C20 conversion of a
farm building; 2-window range with C20 casements with plain
reveals. The right-hand bay contains a doorway with a window
to its right. A chimney projects from the right-hand gable.
Underwood is included for group value.
