The Rose and Crown Public House

GV II

Public house and former ancillary range. C18, altered early
C20. Rendered limestone rubble with left-hand brick gable
stack and stone slate roof. Double-depth plan with left-hand
ancillary range to street.
2 storey; 3-window range, single storey and attic; 1-window
side range. A symmetrical front has a timber canopy to the
doorway, with C20 plate-glass ground-floor pub windows and 3
first-floor cross windows; long side range has a right-hand
C20 door and wider left of centre doorway, with a C20 double
casement between and a right of centre gabled dormer.
INTERIOR: altered and opened out the full width of the street
front; details include chamfered ceiling beams with bar stops.
