GV II

House, later a restaurant. Early C19, remodelled mid/late C19.
Painted stucco with Coade stone dressings, slate roof with
rendered stacks to gable ends and centre ridge. Double-depth
plan. Picturesque Gothic style.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; symmetrical 3-window range.
Pointed-arched ornately-leaded windows with Y-tracery under 3
forward-facing gables, that to the centre over a
pointed-arched door with applied vermiculated Coade stone
rusticated voussoirs and jambs. Similar applied quoins flank
the gabled canted bays. A moulded string course over the
ground floor has an ornamented frieze below it, probably Coade
stone.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
A highly ornamented example of early C19 cottage ornee, one of
a group in the area.
