House, now house and shop. Early C19. Painted stucco, roof
unseen. Double-depth plan.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys; symmetrical 3 bays. The parapeted facade
is flanked by large semicircular bays with 8/8-pane sash
windows in curved frames, the ground-floor right has a C20
shop window. French windows with margin panes and overlight
open onto a 1st-floor balcony with delicate vertical segmental
curves to the railings between the bays which form a porch to
the 6-panel door. 6/6-pane sash window to the centre of the
2nd floor.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: in 1878 this was the house from which George
Henry Croydon published the Teignmouth Gazette.
Altered ground floor, but complete upper floors with curved
bays complimenting those on No.2 (qv).
