Oakhurst Cottage
(Formerly listed as Oakhurst Farm Cottage)
II
House, at one time two cottages. Early C17, perhaps incorporating earlier features, probably converted into two cottages in C18 and renovated c1982. Timber framed building on stone plinth with rendered infill, weatherboarded first floor and tiled roof with brick chimneystack. Two storeys; three windows. C20 casements. Original door case in centre of east elevation, evidenced by lack of plinth, but now in C20 extension to south west which replaced an earlier wooden shed and earlier lean-to to north. Box frame exposed on ground floor but bottom of upright posts lost. C18 brick chimneystack with top modified in late C20.
INTERIOR: has open fireplace with spice cupboard and bread oven, parlour fireplace, queenpost roof, some old floorboards and exposed frame with jowled corner posts and some curved tension braces.
