Farmhouse. Late C17/early C18 with C19 and later alterations. Timber-framed with red brick nogging and red brick. Rendered in part with stippled decoration and plain margins to openings, roughcast render to left end and part of front. Plain-tile roofs with gault brick end stacks and truncated rear lateral stack. Originally 2-unit central-chimney plan changed to 3 units and with lower service bay added C18. 2 storeys. 4-window range of 2-light casement to left then 3 early 3-light centre-opening casements with leaded lights. Ground floor has 4-light window to far left, then C20 window, door and 2-light casement. Doorway and 1st floor 2-light casement on right end. To rear an 8/8 sash, lean-to projection with 3-light early casement, further door and early windows and projecting stack. INTERIOR. Chamfered bridging beams, plank doors, stair in position of central stack opening. Dairy in lean-to has slate shelves. Kitchen passage has cast-iron pump and stone trough. Room to left has brick oven and copper. Cellar has shallow brick vaulted ceiling and external stair. Queen strut roof with clasped purlins and collars. HISTORY. The original farmhouse was extended C18 and again in early C19 when a large wing was added, the farmhouse then becoming the service wing. This large wing was, however, in turn demolished around the turn of the century.
