House. Early C18. Header bond brickwork with rubbed brick
dressings to flat arches and moulded brick eaves cornice;
rendered plinth, brick gable stacks and tiled roof with stone
slate verges. Double-depth plan.
2 storeys and attic; 4-window range. Brick plat band, with a
right of centre doorway with panelled pilasters, brackets and
open pediment to a round-arched doorway with painted fanlight
and 6-panel door, the top pair round-arched, and late C20
joinery. C20 horned 6/6-pane sashes and 2 hipped dormers with
6-pane casements.
INTERIOR contains a central passage opened to the right-hand
room and divided by a round-headed arch on fluted pilasters;
deeper, wider rooms to the left-hand side, smaller rooms to
the right with ground-floor plank and muntin panelling, and a
rear stair, altered on the ground floor, with column newels
and column on vase balusters and moulded rail above. Raised,
fielded panelling to ground- and first-floor rooms with box
cornices; ground-floor fireplaces set diagonally in rear
corners; large basement kitchen fireplace in right-hand gable;
fire surrounds removed on first floor; panelled doors; roof,
partly obscured, has heavy collars.
