Haughton Farm

Range of farm buildings including stable blocks, pigeoncote and
barn, now partly converted into a restaurant. Late C18, C19 and
C20. Red brick. Pantile roofs, single storey with 2 storey plus
attic pigeoncote and 2 storey barn. Quadrangle-plan with various
extensions. Single storey, 3 bay range extending from the north
east side of the house with single C20 glazing bar casement and
doorway with plank door to the left, further left is a C20 brick,
glass and hipped pantile porch. Projecting from the left is a
similar 4 bay range with single ridge stack and dentil eaves
having a single glazing bar casement with a doorway with plank
door to the left and further left 2 similar casements in former
doorways, all under segmental arches. The west gable of this
wing has a large opening with garage door and single small sash
under segmental arch above. This wing extends to the rear/east
where it has blocked and altered openings and contains within it
the pigeoncote which has bands of dentil forming single pediments
in the gables, the south gable with a single rectangular opening.
The wing turns south at a right angle where there is a large
projecting C20 lean-to. Attached to the left is the barn. This
front has blocked and altered openings. To the left of the barn
is a single storey single bay wing and extending from the rear
is a further single storey wing which has 5 small round
ventilators and a single glazing bar casement to the left. This
wing joins the rear wing of the farmhouse. The internal crewyard
walls are altered and the crewyard is covered over. Stables
retain hay racks and the pigeoncote has brick nesting boxes.
