C16 house, timber framed, encased in red brick during the C19: dated 1836 on
the front and 1870 on the west gable. The plan is complex but presents a long
range to the east with a gabled wing on the south, this being the front elevation.
Roofs ridged, gabled and pegtiled with a dentilled brick eaves cornice. The
east gable of the south wing has a small paned sash-window under a segmental
arch on the first storey, and a large paned pair of sashes under a straight
arch on the ground storey. The long range has a neo-Jacobean porch, rendered,
with a semi-hexagona1 bay window on the left and a blocked and painted sash
window on the right. The first storey has 2 pairs of hornless small paned
sashes. Inside the main range a complete timber frame, this was a 2 storeyed
building with a crown post roof of the early to mid C16. Wide oak floor boards.
The whole refitted at the times of the 2 date stones, there are several C19
fire surrounds. The original hall range had its upper storey raised during
the Cl7, at which time the south wing appears to have been added.
