St Lawrence
Ruins in the garden of
Woolverton Manor
SZ 57 NW 5/10A 30.3.51.
II
2.
A small stone rubble structure of which the north-west and south-east gable ends
are the major surviving portions. They each contain a trefoil-headed lancet, though
the south-east one has lost most of the outline of its head. P C Stone's "Architectural
Antiquities of the Isle of Wight" says that it was not an ecclesiastical building
but a C14 domestic building of uncertain use, probably not residential but a store.
