Large house now 2 dwellings. Dated 1707 with alterations dated 1839. Thin
coursed hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. Quoins, plinth.
3-room plan, double-depth with direct-entry into 3rd cell. Nine 1st-floor
windows. 1st and 2nd cell have inserted doors initialled and dated 'DP1839'
and matching original doorway which has a square surround decorated with roll
moulding running round the lintel and framing a panel reading "IR 1707";
casement moulded cornice. Each cell has a 5-light double-chamfered mullioned
and transomed window with hoodmould to ground floor, 2 cross-windows to 1st floor,
and a blind oval window with hoodmould to each floor. Coped gables with end
stacks. 2 other ridge stacks. Rear has other mullioned windows and main feature
of 2 doorways with shaped lintels of C17 character and possibly re-used.
Interior: largely remodelled c1839. 3rd cell has a fireplace with wide shallow
arch with a cyma moulding. 2nd cell has similar fireplace but with spiral stops
to the jamb moulding; the chamber above has smaller fireplace with a bolection
moulding.
