Formerly the Royal Oak Inn. A C17 timber-framed and plastered house, weatherboarded
on the gable ends. A C18 brick wall, plastered, extends on the south-east end,
with a moulded brick, swept up, capping. 2 storeys and cellars. 2 window range
on the front, C18 double-hung sashes with glazing bars, in cased frames. The
ground storey has a 3-light canted bay window. The windows on the gable end
are casements with lattice leaded lights. At the rear there is a C20 addition.
The interior has exposed timber-framing and there is C17 brick vaulted cellar.
Oak House, Honeysuckle Cottage, White Cottage, Meadow Cottage and Hill Rise form
a group.
