Canal footbridge. c 1864 for the Regent's Canal Company and no doubt by the
iron founder, Henry Grissell, of the Canal Company's ironworks at Hoxton, whose
mark appears on the similar Cumberland footbridge, Regent's Park qv. Cast iron
bridge with masonry abutments. Single span segmental arch of rusticated plinths
and piers with cornices, cast iron railings with scroll bracketed standards;
coped masonry parapets to approaches.
