Well head and adjoining boundary wall and gatepiers. c1830.
Limestone ashlar. Pentagonal. Well head has chamfered coping,
and at each corner, a square pier carrying an ogee domed stone
canopy and finial. Dwarf brick boundary wall with half-round
stone coping, enclosing the garden of Old School House (qv).
Approx 80m long. Pair of square brick gatepiers at south end.
This building is one of the ornamental architectural features
introduced to the village c1820-1840 by Gregory Gregory, Lord
of the Manor of Harlaxton, following the precepts of JC
Loudon.
