Two houses, rear wing formerly reading room and fire station. Early C19
remodelling of earlier building, incorporating some C17 fragments. Coursed
ironstone rubble, Welsh slate roof, flanking brick chimneys. L-plan. 2 storeys,
4 bays to front. 3-light wooden casements with horizontal glazing bars and
wooden lintels, 5 to first floor, ground floor left altered C20. C20 half-glazed
door between left bays, central C20 door in moulded stone surround with 4-centred
arch. Blocked doorways between right bays and adjacent to window in second bay.
Later rear wing incorporates wide doorway with moulded stone surround, 4-centred
arch and large renewed keyblock. Interior: third bay has stop-chamfered
fireplace lintel, ogee moulded spine beam with central fillet (similar to that in
No 4, The Green), and cavetto moulded side beams.
