House. Early C19, remodelled c1830 and renovated late C20.
Coursed squared stone with brick dressings and concrete tile
roof. 2 brick gable stacks with coped double flues set
diagonally. Brick quoins. 2 storeys; 3 window range. Central 2
storey box framed gabled porch with rendered nogging and a
4-light wood mullioned window with diamond panes. Open lower
stage covering a gable headed board door with brick surround
and stone lintel. Beyond, on each floor, a 3-light stone
mullioned window with brick surround. The ground floor windows
are larger. At the rear, a large C20 brick buttress with round
arched openings for a door and window.
This building is probably one of those rebuilt c1790-1820 by
George de Ligne Gregory and remodelled in a picturesque style
c1820-1840 by Gregory Gregory, successive Lords of the Manor
of Harlaxton.
