12/186 The Seven Stars
II
House, formerly inn. Late C18. Squared stone front of near-ashlar quality,
squared stone right return and rubble rear elevation. Welsh slate roof with
brick stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays, symmetrical. Plinth, sill bands, rusticated
quoins. Central half-glazed door with 3-pane overlight; renewed 18-pane sash
windows; all openings in raised stone surrounds. Gables with coping returned
on deep footstones; rebuilt end stacks.
Former coaching inn, becoming private house c.1945. C20 single-storey left
extension and altered rear wing are not of special interest.
