Cattle trough. Late C19. Granite rectangular cattle trough with chamfered base on granite
slab supports with a granite domed spur stone at each end. Underneath is a rectangular
dog trough set between granite kerbs at ground level. Inscription reads:' Metropolitan
Drinking Fountain and Cattle Trough Association' on one side; on the other,' In memory
of John White of this parish surgeon obiit AD 1868 and of Emily his wife obiit Ad 1891.'
