C16, remnant of former Manor House of Sir Richard Combe. Ashlar, 2 storeys with
porch on ground floor. 2 superimposed orders with attached columns, Doric to
ground floor. Square plan. Panel below lst floor window carved with arms, much
worn, almost obliterated, of Sir Richard Combe, owner and builder of house (on
site of earlier house) between 1557 and 1595 Until recently ivy covered. VCH,
p 220; RCHM, p 110. AM.

Charter Tower and Manor House Garden Walls form a group.
