Farmhouse. Mid C18 and early C19. Coursed squared rubble and
dressed stone, with glazed pantile roof and stone slate verges.
Partial plinth. Deep eaves. 2 ridge and 4 gable stacks, one
external. 2 storeys plus garrets. 3 bays wide by 4 bays deep.
Windows are mostly glazing bar sashes. East front has to left
range of adjoining lower outbuildings. Off-centre C20 French
window flanked to left by C20 casement, and to right by 3 sashes.
Above, to right, a smaller sash. North front has, in return
angle, a sash and to its right, door with rockfaced architrave
and overlight. North gable, to right, has central Yorkshire sash
to garret. West front has 2 storey single bay C19 addition to
right. To left, blocked window and door. To their right, 3
sashes. Above, to left, casement flanked by single Yorkshire
sashes. To their right, 2 sashes. South end has 2 gables, one
coped. To right, single storey, single bay addition with coped
gable and kneelers. To left, casement and to right, door with
overlight. Above, a C20 casement. Outbuildings and additions
have, to west, to left, C20 lean-to porch and door with segmental
head. To right, small casement and garage door. Beyond,
adjoining boundary wall. Adjoining stable is of no special
interest. Interior has late C18 Adam style fireplace removed
from Nettleworth Manor. Early C19 hob grate with foliate panels.
Mid C19 register grate with Classical surround. Mid C18 dogleg
stair with landing. Ramped handrail, turned newels, stick
balusters. Outside, to north and east, adjoining dressed stone
boundary wall with half-round coping. Elaborate late C19 cast
iron gate. Approx. 110M long.
