(At one time known as Batts House). Irregular ½ timbered Cl6 structure with
large modern additions built on side of hill with various ascending floors to
allow for the fall in level of site. Multiple of gable end elevations with
exposed vertical ½ timbering and rendered infilling. Partly brick and tile
hung with ½ hipped ended tile roof and central chimney stack. Leaded casement
windows and modern projecting tiled porch at entrance with period oak door.
Originally a small farmhouse it was very much restored and enlarged about 190O.
Interesting interior with some very good Cl6 and early C17 panelling, most of
it brought from Chiddingstone Castle. Ornamental carved screen, at one time
fo+ming part of a family pew at Chiddingstone Church.
