Includes Nos 5 & 7 Russell Street.
Circa 1895. Probably by Leeming and Leeming. Built in conjunction with and
in the same style as the Borough Market. The arcade and its shops mainly of
iron and glass with some timber - all very thin. Entrance pavilions of stone
in elaborate small-scaled C16 French style. 3 main storeys plus another in
steep, slated roof. Shaped gables, stone dormers, turrets etc. Elevation
to Russell Street less ambitious. The Arcade is continued south of Russell
Street as entrance to Borough Market.
