5/376 Oasthouse approx 20m south
west of Romford House

GV II

Former oasthouse, now used as stables. Early/mid C19. Red brick with peg-
tile roof. Relatively small oast with low stowage on a rough east west axis.
2 circular plan hop kilns on the west end. One of these projects northwards
with a small hut-like extension in the angle between it and the stowage. Odd
C19 and C20 casements, most with glazing bars. Stowage has hipped roof and
hop kilns have low conical roofs with louvred box-like vents at their apexes.
