Remaining lodge of a pair formerly at entrance to Mistley Hall. Circa 1781.
Said to have been part of Adam's design for the Hall and Park for Richard Rigby.
White brick, stone dressings. Hipped grey slate roof culminating in a brick
chimney stack. Square plan. One storey. Moulded and dentilled parapet
cornice. Panel of swags and modillions to each face of the building below the
cornice, band following through 6 panelled door facing Green Lane, moulded
surround, frieze, moulded brackets to moulded flat canopy. Similar surrounds,
but without the canopy brackets to side windows. q.v. 3/227.
