horse-wash south of
Beamish Home Farm
GV II
Wall, trough and horse-wash to Beamish Home Farm. Early C19. Coursed squared
rubble. Wall about 1½ metres high with half-round coping curves from farmyard
gate almost parallel with road; 2 retaining walls in grass verge slope down
from road at north end towards bend in field wall at south; wide stone trough
at end of field wall is fed from stone drain in wall and is reached from ramp
between retaining walls; field wall coping ramped down along south wall of
trough. Steps up from trough at south end lead to paved surface.
