GV II

House. Early C19. Weatherboarded to first floor, yellow stock
brick with stone dressings and a tiled hipped roof.
STYLE: Italianate.
PLAN: double-depth.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and basement; 3-window range.
Double-fronted with overhanging eaves, windows set in shallow
vertical recesses, and rubbed brick arches; steps up to a
central round-arched doorway in a matching recess with a
plate-glass fanlight and door with 2 tall panels, round-arched
ground-floor windows and flat-headed first-floor windows, with
6/6-pane sashes. 2 small basement windows. A moulded strip
above ground-floor windows to the boarded upper floor.
INTERIOR: has a hall arch to a central stair with curtail,
cast-iron newel, stick balusters and wreathed rail, panelled
shutters, and 6-panel doors. One of a group of similarly
styled houses on Medway Road (qv).
